Livestock Futures and Options Migration to Production-Dallas
To provide clients with a real-world production environment on Google Cloud prior to the Chicago region launch, Livestock futures and options will migrate to a new Production environment in the private zones of the Dallas region in Q4 2026. In the second half of 2028, Livestock futures and options will migrate to the Production-Chicago environment, in the private Google Cloud Chicago region.
Unlike Sandbox-Dallas, which can only be accessed via GLink ULL and GLink Premium connectivity, the Production-Dallas environment will be accessible via all current connectivity solutions and the new GLink ULL and GLink Premium solutions for Ultra Low Latency Google Compute Engine (ULL GCE) Instances.
GLink ULL-Dallas and the U4C Bare Metal instances will be the lowest-latency access method available for markets hosted in the Production-Dallas environment.
In advance of the Cloud migration, CME Group is launching new, dedicated Market Segments and MDP Channels on-premise to segregate Livestock markets from the rest of the Agriculture complex. Moving Livestock to its own dedicated infrastructure beforehand de-risks the Q4 migration, ensures operational stability and insulates other agricultural markets from any impacts. In the event of a disaster recovery incident in Production-Dallas, Livestock markets will fall back to the current, on-premise Production environment.
