1-Ounce Gold Futures Expansion to 24-7 Trading

Effective, Sunday, July 19 (trade date Monday, July 20) CME Group will migrate 1-Ounce Gold futures to a new CME MDP 3.0 channel and market segment to enable 24/7 trading.

1-Ounce Gold futures will trade continuously on CME Globex with at least a two-hour weekly maintenance period occurring on the weekend. All holiday or weekend trading from Friday evening through Sunday evening will have a trade date of the following business day, with clearing, settlement and regulatory reporting processed the following business day.

New Release environment testing is available from Sunday, 5:00 p.m. Central Time (CT) to Friday, 4:00 p.m. CT. Weekend testing is not available.

At the beginning of the Saturday extended maintenance window, CME Globex will disconnect all clients' sessions; reset sequence numbers; and cancel resting day orders and mass quotes. Credit and Risk Management

With this launch, CME Globex Credit Controls (GC2) supports unique GC2 weekend limits. Client specified limits may affect weekend GT order cancellation. The GC2 weekday schedule for 5-day clients begins Sunday at 4:05 p.m. CT. At this time, 5-day client systems can start trading. For weekday limits, 5-day clients can trade during the expanded weekday schedule. Weekend credit GC2 limits for 1 oz gold futures should be setup for the COMEX exchange.

7-day clients should follow the standard product schedule.

Currently 5-day 1-Ounce Gold futures clients can utilize CME Globex Start-up Processing. However, due to the new 7-day trading schedule there is no longer a Globex Sunday startup processing cycle.

Convenience Gateway (CGW) Support

Clients can continue to use 5-day CGW sessions, however, order submission is not available until 4:05 p.m. CT on Sunday. If a client wishes to trade between Friday 4:00 p.m. CT - Sunday 4:00 p.m. CT, a new CGW session must be created.

Good Till (GT) Order Elimination

If weekend trading is not enabled in CME Globex Credit Controls (GC2), GT orders will be eliminated on Friday at 4:00 p.m. CT. All client systems are encouraged to cancel all 1-Ounce Gold futures GT orders before Friday 4:00 p.m. CT.
