Circuit Breakers
Circuit breakers are a series of price fluctuation limits above and below a reference price, usually settlement, for certain CME Group products. Products with circuit breakers are divided into Primary and Associated contracts.
The GCC designates the lead month for the Primary contract.
Only a Primary contract can trigger a circuit breaker event. When a Primary contract triggers a circuit breaker event, all Associated contracts will follow the behavior of the Primary contract. Primary and Associated are defined in the GCC Price Fluctuation Limits spreadsheet.
