Category Code X - Text
The Text message format will be used to transmit messages that cannot be expressed within other formats specified within this topic. Text messages will not be formatted in any way that will permit interpretation by vendors' systems. Each Text message, or portion of a Text message, will be inserted in a fixed field of 80 P/A Characters.
Text messages may be transmitted with descriptive Type Codes; in which case, vendors will be expected to detect and print pertinent Text messages and take appropriate action. Valid Type Codes for Text messages are as follows:
