Category C - Control Messages

Control messages are provided to update systems with notification of significant CME Group status changes and to test system integrity.

Control messages will consist of a standard Header including a Category Code and a Type Code, which explicitly identifies the system control message. The text of a control message will consist of 46 P/A Characters, plus a 47th ETX control character, and contain a specified message structure, which is subject to processing by systems.
