Co-Location Services Impacts: CME GLink and CME Globex Hub - TY5Â
CME Globex Co-Location customer equipment is housed in the same facility as the CME Globex Production environment. As a result, Co-Location customers may have special considerations in the event of an EBS Market on CME Globex production failure.
Co-Location customers are responsible for their own DR strategy. Co-Location customers must have disaster recovery procedures in place to continue business accordingly.
Co-Location Services includes:
GLink Secaucus
GLink Slough
CME Globex Hub - TY5
CME Group identifies three scenarios that would initiate DR procedures for the Co-Location facility:
Co-Location Services available / CME Globex unavailable
Co-Location Services unavailable / CME Globex available
Co-Location Services unavailable / CME Globex unavailable (entire facility unavailable).
Co-Location Outage Event Notification
DR event notifications are communicated by the Co-Location Customer Support team if the Co-Location Production environment fails as result of a disaster. DR notifications are sent to registered contacts enrolled via the Co-Location Services Customer Support Portal. Firm Administrators can register emergency contacts from the Firm Administration tab on the Customer Support portal.
Disaster Scenarios for CME Globex and Co-Location Facilities
The Production facility houses CME Globex Production and Co-Location services. The following table details each of the three scenarios for which customers must be prepared.
Disaster Scenarios | Applicable Data Centers | Availability | Description | CME Group Responsibility | Client Responsibility |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Scenario 1 | NY5 LD4.2 TY5 |
| Co-Location Services are operable, but CME Globex Production is inoperable. | CME Group initiates DR procedures. | GLink and CME Globex Hub - TY5 are available in this scenario. Client must update their network configuration to route to the EBS Market on CME Globex DR environment(s). |
Scenario 2 | NY5 LD4.2 TY5 |
| Customer has lost connectivity to CME Globex Production within Co-Location facility. | None | Co-location services in the impacted production data center (GLink-Slough, GLink-Secaucus, or CME Globex Hub - TY5) are NOT available in this scenario Customer initiates their internal DR strategy to connect to the Production environment. CME Group strongly recommends all Co-Located clients establish alternative/back-up connectivity in case of connectivity issues. |
Scenario 3 | NY5 LD4.2 TY5 |
| Site failure; Co-Location Services and CME Globex Production are inoperable. | CME Group initiates DR procedures. | GLink and/or CME Globex Hub - TY5 are NOT available in this scenario. Customer initiates their internal DR strategy to connect to the DR environment. CME Group strongly recommends all Co-Located clients establish alternative/back-up connectivity in case of connectivity issues. |
